Freelance SEO consultant: audit, strategy and reporting

You want more sales from Google and you want to know who will touch your site. I am David and I do the SEO myself, from the audit to the fix to the report.

I have done SEO and SEM since 2013, mostly with shops and small teams. If I think your site will not pay off yet, I tell you before you spend a cent. I joke little, I work much.

What a freelance SEO consultant does

SEO means showing up on Google when someone searches for what you sell, without paying per click. It takes tech fixes, clear pages, and trust from other sites.

As a freelance SEO consultant, I keep it practical. Here is what I do exactly:

  • I check your whole site: speed, crawl, titles, and pages Google can not read.
  • I look for the words your buyers type, with local keyword research per market.
  • I tell you which pages to fix first and what to change in each one.
  • I clean the tech part: internal links, hreflang, which tells Google what version to show per country, and errors in Search Console.
  • I fix or ask for fixes in WordPress or PrestaShop, with code when needed.
  • I leave you a clear board in GA4 and Looker Studio, which are Google tools to see clicks and contacts.

You get short docs and real changes, not a huge PDF no one reads.

How I work: my process in four steps

I keep it simple. First I learn your trade. Then I touch the site. Then we read numbers together.

  1. 1
Check. I look at your site, Search Console, GA4, and sales. You give me access and ten minutes to explain what you sell. I tell you on a call what I see wrong.
  2. 2
Short plan. You get 10 to 15 tasks sorted by gain and effort. Each task says who does it and when. No smoke.
  3. 3
Fix. I change titles, texts, speed bits, and internal links, or I send you clear asks for your dev. We publish and test.
  4. 4
Read. Each month we look at clicks, calls, and sales. If a change drops, we roll it back. I ping you first.

What you get each time:

  • A short note with what I found and what I changed
  • Next tasks with date, in plain words

Who I work with

I work with small teams and owners who want direct talk. No layers. You talk to me and I touch your site.

  • Shops on PrestaShop or WordPress that stalled. We clean categories, product pages, and speed.
  • Local firms that live from calls. We fix pages per service and area, tied to your local SEO pages.
  • Teams that sell abroad. We sort languages and versions, with my international SEO method.
  • Firms that run Google Ads too. I join SEO with Shopping and search ads so both pull the same way.

What I need from you to start

  • Access to Search Console and GA4, read only is fine
  • Who is your best buyer and what page makes money
  • Who can publish changes, you, me, or your dev

If you are a big firm with five bosses and weekly slides, I am not your guy. A freelance SEO expert like me fits better when you want speed and plain talk.

Independent consultant or agency: which fits you

I have been on both sides. Each one has its moment. Here is how I see it as an independent SEO consultant.

PointWith meWith a big agency
Who does the workI do it from start to endAn account lead plus staff
TalkYou write to me directYou write to a manager
SpeedFew clients at once, fast movesMore hands, more meetings
TechI read code, logs, and feedsSplit across roles
SetupSimple quote, no odd lock inYearly deal and layers

Pick a freelance when you want one brain on your site. Pick an agency when you need lots of hands at once, like 50 pages in a week.

What freelance SEO services cost

It depends. I quote after I see your site, your trade, and your goal. I look at these factors:

  • Size of the site and tech state
  • If we must write new pages or just fix what you have
  • If you sell in one place or in many
  • If your team ships or I ship

I do not charge by price lists. You send the form, I check your case, and I send a closed quote. If a one-off SEO audit is enough, I tell you.

When it makes sense to hire me

Hire an SEO consultant when you have something to win and something to fix. Here are real cases I see:

  • Your shop sells but Google brings no buyers. We clean tech and rewrite key categories.
  • Your PrestaShop feed breaks in Shopping. I check modules in PHP, payment steps, shipping rules, and MySQL data when needed.
  • You sell in Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal and each version drifts. I set hreflang, local words, and links per place.
  • You get clients by phone, like studios I helped for ChovA with SEO and SEM. We fix service pages and track calls.
  • Your team runs ads but the site leaks. I join SEO with Google Ads and Shopping, Meta Ads, and email, plus CRO and A/B tests, which are small page tries to get more quotes.

When not yet: if you just launched and you have no clear offer, sell a bit first. Come back when you have proof people pay.

My experience as an SEO consultant

I am from Cornella and I talk like over coffee. I do not sell smoke. This is what I have touched:

  • SEO and SEM since 2013, with multi-market ecommerce.
  • SelfPackaging, Grupo Brownie, and Mopec, where I was head of ecommerce.
  • PrestaShop deep: PHP modules, payment gateways, shipping, and Salesforce to PrestaShop link. Also WordPress and MySQL.
  • Google Ads and Shopping, Meta Ads, and email marketing for repeat sales.
  • CRO and A/B tests, GA4 and Looker Studio boards, plus report automation.
  • At Heymondo, travel insurance, SEO and SEM for Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal. At IDFinance, Moneyman, SEO for Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Poland, and Georgia. With local research, E-E-A-T content per place, which means first hand notes that build trust, and link building per place.
  • At ChovA, client hunt for architecture studios with SEO and SEM. In 2026 I build AI agents and automation for marketing chores. I live in Andorra since 2022. I invest in startups.

I still like small shops. Big words bore me. Clear data keeps me calm.

How to tell if a freelance SEO expert is good

There is much noise. As a freelance SEO specialist, here is how I would pick, if I were you:

  • Ask what they will touch first on your site and why
  • Ask how they will track wins: clicks, calls, sales in Search Console and GA4
  • Ask who ships the changes and how long each takes
  • Ask what they do if traffic drops after a change
  • Ask when they would tell you to stop paying

Good signs:

  • They speak plain and show real screens, not odd shots
  • They show Search Console and sales, not just ranks
  • They make no promise of spot one or magic dates
  • They say no when a task will not pay

One-off work or monthly help

Both can work. A one-off suits a clear tech mess or a pre-launch check. Monthly suits a shop that needs fixes, texts, and links over time. Tell me your case and I tell you which pays.

FAQ

What does an SEO consultant do?

An SEO consultant helps you show on Google without paying per click. They check tech, words buyers use, pages, and links. I give you a short list, I ship with you, and we track clicks and contacts each month.

How much does an SEO consultant cost?

It depends on site size, tech state, content needs, and markets. Market lists move a lot, so I quote closed after a check. Send your URL and your goal, and I tell you what fits and what does not.

Independent consultant or agency: which fits?

Talk direct and one brain on the site suits a freelance. Lots of output at once suits an agency. If you want me to touch code, feeds, and reports myself, freelance fits. If you need ten hands this week, pick an agency.

How long does SEO take to show results?

It takes months, not days. Tech fixes show first in crawl and speed. Clicks and calls come later and move by trade and start point. I make no promise of dates or spots. We read your data and keep what moves.

How do I know a freelance SEO expert is good?

Ask for a short check of your site and read how they think. Good ones use plain words, show Search Console and GA4, and name risks. They link wins to calls and sales. They say what they would not do.

Can I hire an SEO consultant for a one-off project?

Yes. Many hire me for a one-off audit, hreflang fix, or Shopping feed cleanup. You get findings, fixes, and next tasks. If you then want monthly help with texts and links, we can set it.
