01 Where I come from
I did a vocational degree in app development, the DAM in Spain. I always liked messing around with computers, breaking things and then trying to fix them. Later I did a master in SEO and SEM and a course in digital marketing. Plain talk: learning to show up on Google and to run ads without burning cash.
02 First jobs
In May 2013 I joined Jabtab Solutions as a web developer and SEO. PHP, JavaScript, WordPress, PrestaShop and MySQL, a bit of everything. That same month I started GMDavid, my freelance work in ecommerce, web development and traffic. That freelance side is still alive today, though it looks pretty different now.
03 Ecommerce and SEO
After that I passed through several ecommerce and fashion companies where I learned the trade by testing. Quick recap:
- SelfPackaging: traffic, ecommerce and custom PrestaShop module development for several markets, with A/B tests, Google Ads, Shopping and Facebook Ads.
- Grupo Brownie: PrestaShop with custom modules, SEO and email.
- IDFinance: international SEO for Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Poland and Georgia, with automated reports because manual was hopeless.
- Mopec: head of ecommerce, with catalogue, SEO, Google Ads and Amazon.
- ChovA: winning clients for architecture studios with SEO, SEM and simple dashboards.
- Heymondo: SEO and SEM for Spain, Italy, France and Portugal, with big sites in several languages and calls made with GA4 and Looker Studio.
04 What I'm good at
I've spent 10+ years getting traffic for online shops. I'm a hybrid, which in plain words means I like to touch code and think through the plan too. I've done international SEO across a few countries. I work with SEO, SEM, Meta Ads, GA4 and Looker Studio to decide with data, not gut feel. And lately SEO for AI and AI automation too.
05 My mining era (it was brief)
I mined bitcoin when it came out and almost nobody knew what it was. I lived with my parents, my PC sounded like a jet, and I shut it off before they killed me. Lost the wallet, of course. In 2018 I came back to crypto and I haven't left since.
06 From Cornellà to Andorra
I grew up in Cornellà, moved to Barcelona in 2018 and to Andorra in 2022, up in the mountains.
07 Outside work
I'm a new dad, so I sleep just enough and I brag about it. And I've always lost track of time with computers and gadgets, which is how I got here. This site started as a travel blog and those guides are still live in /en/travel/.
08 Now
These days I split my time between my kid and projects I build hand in hand with Claude, ChatGPT and other LLMs. I test a lot, I break stuff, and I share here what holds up.
09 Investing and learning
I invest in startups, plus stocks and crypto. I've been curious about web3 for a while, more for the tech than for speculation. Here I also get it wrong and I learn. I take it as lessons I pay for and that never end. I share what I learn in /en/notes/, with my wins and my mistakes.
010 What I'm looking for
I'm looking for partners and people with clear ideas who want to do the work. I'm looking for clients I can talk to straight, with no jargon. I want to meet business people on a similar wavelength. Do solid work and stay calm. Keep clients who come back because they are happy.
